“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” will be released in November 2023. It is a first-person shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision Blizzard. It is the twentieth entry in the “Call of Duty” series and the direct sequel to 2022’s “Modern Warfare II”. The game retains the realistic, modern setting of its predecessor, following the storyline of Task Force 141 as they hunt down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist and terrorist who plans to incite World War III.

In addition to the engaging single-player mode, multiplayer features all 16 base maps from Modern Warfare 2, remastered, with new maps promised upon release. It is worth noting that “Modern Warfare III” introduces a zombie mode set in the open world, which is the first time in the “Modern Warfare” series.

Sledgehammer Games, which was previously responsible for Call of Duty: Vanguard, originally planned to develop an expansion pack for Modern Warfare II, but later turned it into a standalone game using the IW 9.0 engine. Treyarch, best known for the Black Ops series, collaborated on the Zombies mode.

Modern Combat 3 multiplayer and zombies preload size

Pre-loads for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) multiplayer and Zombies modes will be available on all platforms on November 8, 2023. Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net app received pre-loads a day early on November 7, giving users on the platform a head start in downloading game content compared to Steam, PlayStation and Xbox users.

While MW3 has been playable in Early Access for nearly a week, all other modes, including multiplayer and Zombies, are locked until November 9, 2023 (or November 10, depending on where you are) region) final release date.

For those who purchased a digital copy of the game, preloading downloads most of the files early, allowing players to get started as soon as the game officially launches.

• PlayStation 4 and 5: Approximately 80 to 90 GB.

These dimensions are specific to multiplayer and zombies modes. If active mode is not installed, the total preloaded and installed file size may exceed 100 GB.

Modern Combat 3 gameplay

Modern Warfare III introduces familiar gameplay elements, including the return of slide to cancel, similar to its predecessor Modern Warfare II. The single-player campaign is a blend of linear and open-world missions called Open Combat Missions, giving players the freedom to approach their objectives from open combat to covert tactics. An on-screen map aids navigation, providing a tactical overview of objectives and equipment.

In multiplayer, all 16 maps in Modern Warfare 2 are available, with voting maps and the ability to increase player health. The classic “red dot” minimap returns, allowing players to spot enemies on radar. New game modes such as Brutal join the traditional mode, and Ground War and War modes make a comeback. Following launch, 12 6v6 multiplayer maps have been confirmed, with Modern Warfare II maps added seasonally.

Worth mentioning is the open-world PvE Zombies mode, co-developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. In this mode, up to 24 players form teams to fight zombies and AI-controlled enemies and complete objectives on a large map.

Gameplay transcends turns, with limited-time “Aetherstorms” prompting players to infiltrate with loot, promoting a dynamic and cooperative experience. Classic zombie elements such as the Perk-a-Cola drink and the mystery box are retained, while the overall narrative is enhanced through story missions.

“Modern Warfare III” starts in November 2023 and continues the narrative of “Modern Warfare II”. Konni, a Russian private military organization led by notorious ultranationalist terrorist Vladimir Makarov, orchestrated a daring rescue operation to remove Makarov from Zoldaya prison in Verdansk rescued from the building. Kastovia, Task Force 141, led by veteran SAS Captain John Price, aims to thwart Makarov’s evil plans.

The story spans various fictional locations introduced in previous Modern Warfare games, including Verdansk, Kastovia, and Ulchikstan. As the story unfolds, players will experience a series of intense missions involving nuclear materials, chemical weapons, and the looming threat to Verdansk. The campaign reintroduces familiar characters like Soap, Ghost, and Price, as well as returning faces like CIA Chief Kate Laswell and ULF Commander Farah Karim.

New characters like Andre Nolan and Milena Romanova add depth to the storyline. A post-credits scene reveals Price, with Lasswell’s assistance, infiltrating General Shepard’s office and assassinating him for his actions in Mexico.

Zombies mode is set in Urzikistan in 2021 and involves Operation Deadbolt, in which operators battle zombies and a private military company led by Viktor Zakhaev explores the extradimensional substance “Aether”. The game intricately interweaves action, suspense, and the fight against global threats for a gripping, immersive gaming experience.
