Ready or Not is a video game in which you play as a police SWAT team dealing with crime in the fictional city of Los Sunos, California. It is made by an Irish company called VOID Interactive and released for Microsoft Windows.

The game was first released on Steam Early Access on December 17, 2021, and then the full version was released on December 13, 2023. People love this game because of its cool atmosphere and gameplay. Some even think it’s like a new version of Sierra Entertainment’s SWAT series. However, some people disliked the tone of the game and the way it dealt with certain themes.

In Ready or Not’s Winding Trail mission, a SWAT team heads to a data center that may be doing something shady. Los Sueños police always face difficulties, especially when suspects may not even know they are protecting illegal items. Also, since some scammers have impersonated police officers in the past, it can be difficult to get these suspects to comply.

Detain anyone unarmed. But keep in mind that since data centers are operated by very few people, there may not be many civilians around.

• Preparation:

  • The suspect is wearing a helmet, making it difficult to take him out with regular shots. You may need special armor-piercing rounds. Also, they all carry rifles, so the risk is high.
  • Since this place has long corridors, rifles and submachine guns work best. Bring plenty of flash bangs to clear the room, but don’t use the pepper ball gun this time as you don’t need to keep the suspect alive.

  • First, secure the roof. Check the two floors above, but don’t go in there; this pressure puts your team at risk. Instead, enter from the first-floor parking lot, which leads directly to the server room.
  • Once you’ve secured the hallway, open the right door leading to Phil Ledger’s office. Then clean the conference room and kitchen. Use flashbangs and coordinate your team for smoother operations.
  • Head to the lobby area. Don’t bother with the “employees only” door; this is a dangerous approach for servers. Open the door to the cargo transport area and clean out the electrical room connected to the server.
  • After dealing with the server room, move to the electrical room and take the stairs to the staging room. Secure it and move it to the security room.
  • Finally, clean out the main server room downstairs, but be careful. Before sending your team in, check through the second floor window for any enemies. Finally clean out the break room and adjoining storage room.

Once you have contained or downed all suspects and civilians, congratulations! You’ve completed the “Winding Path” mission!

Production of the Ready or Not game began in June 2016, and a video about the game was shown on YouTube in May 2017. In August 2019, a special early version was given out to some people who owned the special edition of the game, but they didn’t keep it a secret.

In April 2020, they let some backers and YouTubers try out parts of the game and share their thoughts. The game was officially launched into Early Access on Steam in December 2021. Later, in 2023, they said the entire game was ready and released.

They mentioned new missions around combating and illegal cryptocurrency mining, as well as improvements such as better gear and characters who can do more on their own. There were a few issues along the way, such as a collaboration with another team called Team17 that didn’t work out, and some issues on Steam due to the game being set in a nightclub level, but they fixed that and got a backup of the game.
